Domain Name Registration

In order to be hosted by SilverCloud Hosting, every Web site needs to have a registered domain name. Your domain name would be what visitors type into their browsers to visit your site. For example, our domain name is silvercloudhosting.com. If you already know what domain name you would like to use, you may purchase one using any of the three options below. If, on the other hand, you have not decided what domain name you would like, or if you are unsure whether or not it is available, you may wish to visit our dedicated domain names site and use its domain search features to assist you. |

Option 1 - Buy Your Domain Here, with Your Hosting Package.
This is the simplest option! With SilverCloud Hosting, there is no need to go anywhere else--you can complete every part of the process of getting your site online right here. We make it easy by allowing you to purchase your domain name as part of the checkout process. If you wish to do this, simply choose which personal or business hosting plan works best for you, click the "Buy Now" button on the plan's page, and follow the simple steps to register your domain and complete the order process.

Option 2 - Buy Your Domain from Our Specialized Domain Sales Site.
If you are currently looking to buy only a domain and not hosting, or if you just find it more convenient, SilverCloud Hosting has developed a special sister site for domain name registrations. This site provides advance domain name search and suggestion functionality, and a complete list of our available domain name extensions (e.g. .com, .net, .org, .info, .etc.) and pricing. The site also allows you to choose from more domain purchasing options than our standard hosting site (such as the ability to search for and buy multiple domains at once).
If you choose to buy your domain on the sister site, you will still need to enter your chosen domain name when you sign up for hosting service, but you will then choose the "Self Management" option.

Option 3 - Buy Your Domain Elsewhere and Point it to Our Servers for Hosting.
Some people feel more comfortable if they do not buy both their domain name and their hosting service from the same provider. If that describes you, we have absolutely no problem with it! You are free to register your domain with any registrar of your choosing, and we will still be happy to host your Web site with our trademarked quality.

No matter which option you choose, please know that registering your domain with us does NOT mean you are "stuck" using us for your hosting. We have heard that some Web hosts will "hold domains hostage," not allowing you to move your site elsewhere. While we think you will be quite happy here, we would never dream of doing such a thing! If you register your domain with SilverCloud Hosting, you assume and retain full ownership rights to that domain. It is yours to manage and do with as you wish, and you even get your own domain control panel to assist you.
